Affordable Gardens & Landscapes is based in Knottingley, and we offer garden clearance, regular garden maintenance, fencing and landscaping across the town and neighbouring Ferrybridge for residential and commercial customers. Being local makes it easy to pop round, look at the garden and talk through what you want before giving you a quote.
Knottingley grew on the River Aire and the Aire and Calder Navigation, a town of boat builders, potters and glassmakers that later became the last in the UK with a working deep coal mine, until Kellingley Colliery closed in December 2015. Its gardens are as varied as that history. There are older properties around St Botolph's Church and the town centre, homes close to the river and canal, and new estates off Womersley Road and Common Lane, where developments such as Jackson's Landing and Glassworks are adding hundreds of new gardens. Parts of the town sit on magnesian limestone, the same stone used for its oldest buildings, while newer plots tend to start as plain lawns waiting for some shape.
Where we work
We cover the whole of Knottingley and Ferrybridge, from the streets around the town hall and St Botolph's to the riverside, England Lane and the new estates on the southern edge of town. Ferrybridge has had a river crossing since a bridge was built there in 1198, and the two places are so closely tied that we cover both as one area.
